Prevailing Global Development Initiative in Collaboration with Ebonyi State Ministry of Health and other development partners unite to raise awareness about viral hepatitis—a preventable and treatable disease that affects millions of people worldwide. Many people living with hepatitis do not know they are infected because the disease often shows no symptoms until serious liver damage has occurred. Hepatitis B and Hepatitis C can lead to chronic liver disease, liver cirrhosis, and liver cancer if left untreated. Early testing, vaccination, and timely treatment can save lives. How to Prevent Hepatitis - Get vaccinated against Hepatitis B. - Practice safe sex and avoid sharing needles or sharp objects. - Ensure blood transfusions and medical procedures are performed with screened blood and sterile equipment. - Wash your hands regularly and maintain good food and water hygiene to prevent Hepatitis A and E. - Get tested if you believe you are at risk or have been exposed.
